Colby Nathan, Mesmers, Sandy Baily, Mibble

Colby Nathan is a recording and performing artist from Southern Maine. He is often found fronting bizarro noise rock outfit, (New England) Patriots, providing lead guitar and backing vocals with Clay Camero, or deconstructing holiday tropes as Experimental Santa. Nathan’s solo performances are used to bring the music of his recording project, Dimples, into the public sphere using backing tracks accompanied by projections, live instruments, textural loops, intentional lighting, and the occasional costume change. Nathan’s performances fluctuate between heart on sleeve sentimentality and surreal humor. Dimples new record, Soul Chateau, will be released on LP and cassette this spring on Feeding Tube Records and Nathan’s own Laughable Recordings.

Mibble is Hadley artist Mike Partham.

“Born into a biracial family and raised in a gospel church, Western Massachusetts singer/songwriter Sandy Bailey draws on her early musical influences to translate her soulful vocals into her own brand of Americana. Her piano driven melodies have a touch of indie flare and a bit of nostalgia, hinting to a time when the lines between jazz blues, country and gospel music were blurred; a time when artists such as Ray Charles and Willie Nelson could share a song, or when Patsy Cline's country music could be heard on pop radio. Although her writing can cross genres, Bailey's vocal delivery never strays far from her gospel roots. Her 2010 Jazz infused debut album "Raven's Flesh" stands in contrast to the 2019 "Live in the Studio" EP which she first released on Bandcamp with her soulful rock group, Sister Jawbone. From sweet lullaby-like ballads to funky soul driven rock songs, her distinct, emotive vocals are what carry her fresh yet familiar sound. In the solitude that came with the year 2020 Bailey began writing and producing much of her solo work from home. Her latest single "Dear John" is a tribute to the late songwriter, John Prine, and was released in May 2021 as part of a forthcoming EP.”
